SHELTER INFORMATION

Three shelters are currently open for victims of Hurricane Harvey that are staffed 24/7 with Red Cross volunteers:

Walnut Hill Recreation Center- Midway Road
Tommie Allen Recreation Center- Bonnie View Road
Samuell Grand Center- East Grand Avenue

A fourth mega shelter will be opening up on Tuesday at the Dallas Convention Center. When opened, they will have room for up to 5,000 people.

FAIRVIEW TOWN CENTER

Requested items: new underwear and socks for men, women, children and infants (all sizes), new warm ups/sweats for men, women, children and infants (all sizes), toiletries, hygiene products, and baby formula, diapers and wipes. Additionally, portable cribs such as Pack N Plays are also needed. All items must be new. All donations will be delivered to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas by Fairview Town Center team members.

DONATE MONEY

The Red Cross depends on financial donations to be able to provide disaster relief immediately. Help people affected by Hurricane Harvey by visiting redcross.org, calling 1- 800-RED CROSS or texting the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF FUND

Mayor Sylvester Turner has established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund that will accept tax deductible flood relief donations. The fund is administered by the Greater Houston Community Foundation.

Online Credit Card Donations: Visit www.ghcf.org. Online credit card donations will be assessed a small fee, typically 3%, by the credit card companies. Donors have the option of increasing their credit card donations to cover this fee.

THE TEXAS DIAPER BANK

The Texas Diaper Bank is sending relief kits to families iwth small children who need access to clean diapers during these times. Make a monetary donation here.

THE DRISCOLL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

This hospital in Corpus Christi is still standing and has yet to lose power. It's accepting monetary donations and if you live in surrounding areas, you can also donate blood. Make a donation here.

DIRECT RELIEF USA

This organization offers prescription medications and medical supplies to those who are in need during emergency situations. They also work with clinics nearby affected areas and doctors to ensure people are taken care of when it comes to their medical needs. Make a donation here.

GLOBAL GIVING

This agency has a goal of raising $2 million to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. With the donations, they will provide food, gas, clean water, hygiene products, and short-term shelter to those in need. Make a donation here.

HELP PETS

SPCA of Texas-North Texas is expecting over 300 cats and dogs to come to our area. They are requesting for donations of cat litter, litter boxes, towels, blankets, treats, toys, and newspaper.
