How To Help The Victims Of Hurricane Harvey

The Red Cross works 24/7 in preparation to respond to disasters such as hurricanes. They start working to prepare for such events before the first raindrop even falls, as well as spend money to get ready.

Here's how you can help the Red Cross:

  • Visit redcross.org and make a donation directly on the website
  • Call 1-800-RED CROSS and make a donation over the phone
  • Text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation
  • Visit your neighborhood Kroger and make a monetary donation to the American Red Cross at Kroger's check-out registers.

Each donation helps the Red Cross prepare, respond, and help people recover from disasters no matter how big or small they may be.

You can also help by donating blood with Carter BloodCare, who will be sending blood donations to its partners affected by Hurricane Harvey. Call 1-877-571-1000 or text DONATE4LIFE to 444-999

The SPCA of TEXAS is also expecting more than 300 dogs and cats to come to North Texas. They are asking for donations of cat litter, litter boxes, towels, blankets, treats, toys, and newspaper. Drop off donations at these locations: SPCA of Texas Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Drive (Dallas) and SPCA of Texas at 8411 Stacy Road (Mckinney). You can also make a monetary donation at SPCA.org/gift
