The United Kingdom has released the five men accused of planning an attack on a Royal Air Force base in Britain on bail.
That base hosts a large number of U.S. assets and has been a launching point for multiple strikes in Iran.
The United Kingdom's Prime Minister Andy Burnham has now said he believes that Iran may have been involved in the attempted attack.
He reportedly told the BBC on Wednesday morning that there where "strong indications" that Iran was involved. He went on to say that the investigation remains ongoing, and complex.
The men have so far only been identified as “U.K. nationals.” Iran has denied having any connection to the suspects.
Their London embassy posted to X: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London categorically rejects and strongly condemns the recent unfounded and malicious speculations published by some British individuals and media outlets attempting to link Iran to the arrest of five suspects in the vicinity of RAF Fairford base.”
