Just in time for Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the United States, protests are breaking out across the country on issues ranging from Israel, climate change, AI, the Iran war, ICE, to other left-wing causes. But this is no coincidence. A Fox News investigation found most of these protests are organized and funded by the same group, which is looking to sow discord and chaos in the U.S. And that group is backed by one man. "Neville Roy Singham is an American tech billionaire, and he mostly coordinates his work with the (Chinese) Communist Party," says Gordon Chang, author and China expert. "And a lot of the protests in the U.S. are not entirely organic, because we know that Singham has been funding them, and he has been trying to subvert the United States."
This is just the latest example of China's influence campaign in Texas and the U.S. Singham's group is also linked with the anti-ICE protests that broke out in Austin after last weekend's ICE-involved shooting, with some of the protesters planning to return to Austin Friday night for another anti-ICE event after the Chinese president departs Washington, D.C. "They're sowing chaos, and it's that chaos that we see on the news every night," says Asra Nomani, Fox News Digital Editor. "They just use any excuse to get out on the streets."
Chang explains why ramping up these protests to coordinate with Xi's visit is all by strategic design. "China is waging a cognitive warfare campaign against the United States," he tells KTRH. "And a large part of that campaign is to get Americans to protest all sorts of things, to make it appear that the United States is falling apart."
"Xi Jinping's favorite narrative is that China is rising and the United States is failing," Chang continues. "And really what these protests do is amplify that narrative."
