President Donald Trump says the United States needs more control over artificial intelligence, but that the industry is just blossoming and needs protection, so he's creating an "AI Force" similar to the Space Force he created nearly seven years ago.
AI needs protection because its potential is so enormous, and because Congress is now preparing to regulate the AI industry.
Congress has been under pressure to take action after reports of panic by some Americans about the dangers of advanced AI,
President Trump said Saturday he plans to name an "AI czar" who'll lead the new AI Force at an unspecified later date.
Trump also posted his dissatisfaction with the name itself. asking for potential new names for artificial intelligence, calling the AI monker "inaccurate and very ineloquent."
