Outgoing U.S. Senators, John Cornyn R-TX, and Thom Tillis R-NC are now holding up the nomination of President Trump's pick for Attorney General, acting AG Todd Blanche. It's significant because the two RINO's had no problem voting for appointees for former president's Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
"There's definitely still all sorts of tensions" said Josh Hammer, host and senior counsel for the Article 3 Project, "John Cornyn, John Thune, these guys come from a fundamentally different era. They are Bush-era Republicans at heart, they don't like Trump's style when it comes to a lot of things, and they're letting it be known."
They are also letting it be known they are against President Trump’s $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund". Todd Blanche noted recently that the fund "was dead". But that's not good enough for Cornyn.
"What I want is the written document to say the same thing he did in his sworn testimony in front of the Judiciary Committee, and, as you recall, what he said is the weaponization fund is dead. He said the audit immunity basically doesn't extend to parties beyond the lawsuit, and it doesn't also extend to future actions by federal agencies other than the IRS," Cornyn told reporters.
With that said, Blanche is expected to ultimately make it through, possibly as soon as next week.
"Todd Blanche is going to get confirmed, based on my understanding of the calendar" Hammer told KTRH, "I don't think it's going to amount to a whole lot, because Todd Blanche is going to be confirmed and he's going to be a fantastic Attorney General at that."
It's just the latest example of 'RINO's' stopping the Trump agenda.
