President Trump has announced that TrumpRX will be offering 600 more generic drugs on its website, which he says represents a seven-fold increase in the amount of drugs offered by TrumpRX.
Trump praised the generic drugs that TrumpRX will carry during a press conference announcing the new offerings, saying: “Sometimes they’re better with the same dosage, the same effectiveness, and the same active ingredients. Yet many consumers do not think to ask for them. They don’t know about them.”
RNC Committeeman and Dr. Robin Armstrong pointed out that this should be major news, but unfortunately it hasn’t gotten much coverage. He blamed political bias, saying: “It certainly would be the lead story if it was a Democrat administration, but they don’t want President Trump to have any positive headlines at all, so they’re gonna just sweep it under the rug.”
He went on to say that this could finally be the GOP’s chance to surge ahead on the healthcare issue, which Democrats have dominated the narrative on for years despite not making much actual progress. “There should be a huge effort to do this,” he said. “So as an RNC member, I’ll work hard to make sure we’re doing that, because it’s a really big deal for a lot of people.”
Dr. Armstrong went on to say that this is a prime example of how the Democratic Party likes to talk about healthcare affordability, but the GOP actually takes action on it.
