Will President Trump Ever Weigh In On The Texas Senate Race?

Early voting is already underway in the Texas GOP Senate primary runoff, and despite previously saying on both Truth Social and in press conferences that he’d make an endorsement in the race “soon,” he has yet to officially weigh in.

According to data from RealClearPolitics, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has a slim lead in his race against incumbent Senator John Cornyn, with at least one poll showing Paxton was up by a full 8 points. If accurate, these polls would show that a Trump endorsement is essentially Cornyn’s only hope for victory, and despite desperate attempts to get it, it hasn’t materialized.

Some think it will never come, including political strategist Vlad Davidiuk, who said: “I think it’s unlikely President Trump will issue an endorsement in the runoff. I think he understands the importance of not putting his thumb on the scale.”

Davidiuk went on to say that President Trump’s influence would be more effective when it came to attacking Democrat nominee James Talarico. “The question Texas voters have to ask is, do they trust James Talarico to uphold Texas values, and the very clear answer to that question is no,” he said.

Davidiuk believes that Talarico has done a good job so far of masking how much of a left-wing radical he truly is, so rather than getting involved in the GOP primary runoff, President Trump should just expose Talarico’s policies for what they are.
