President Trump Orders Federal Agencies To Prioritize Buying American-Made

Among President Trump's many promises while in office has been the reinvigoration of the United States economy, which has been decimated by years of high taxation, wasteful spending and government bloat. One of the ways President Trump has wanted to do that is bring American-made products back and reignite the manufacturing industry.

He has been trying to do that, signing multiple deals with South Korea and others while imposing tariffs on companies in other countries to implore them to move to America. Now, President Trump is taking another step toward that economic revitalization he has been wanting. This week, Trump ordered federal agencies to prioritize American-made products in government purchasing.

Economic strategist Dan Varroney says this is a good step toward getting the economy moving once again.

"Encouraging and engaging small businesses here in the United States...the federal government is the largest purchaser in the world...and where our money goes matters," he says.

In his Sunday Truth Social post, President Trump said "ALL FEDERAL AGENCIES MUST BUY AMERICAN - NO EXCUSES!" It could be a big boon for the economy, but especially for small businesses, which have been gutted by years of Democrat overregulation.

Of course, President Trump's idea will have rigid guidelines and requirements in place, which makes things challenging. But not impossible. Plus, having the safeguards there is good overall for economic health, both short and long term.

One of the biggest things this will do though is make small businesses affordable again. Small businesses have been killed for years through licensing and permitting. But this changes that.

"You look at regulations and permitting, they are designed for large companies...they have lawyers, regulatory compliance staff, and budgets to support this...small companies do not," says Varroney. "At the same time, it is these small companies providing two out of three private sector jobs."

This plan by Trump would essentially let small businesses be able to scale properly.

"Regulations and permitting would then be scaled to suit for smaller companies," Varroney says.

He adds though that short-term growth from this will be good. But the long-term growth will be determined by the speed with which these small businesses expand and invest.
