Come Again? Dems Who Tried to Jail Trump Call DOJ Politicized

If Democrats didn't have hypocrisy, they would have nothing at all. The latest example is the party that spent the past decade trying to throw Donald Trump in jail by any means necessary is now claiming Trump's Department of Justice is politicized. First, former Biden special counsel Jack Smith recently told a gathering in DC that the Trump Justice Department had been "corrupted" by Trump loyalists who are "demolishing its credibility and seeking to undermine the law." Smith reportedly said Trump's DOJ "targets people for criminal prosecution simply because the president doesn't like them."

That coming from Smith, the man who prosecuted Trump twice while working for the Biden DOJ, and secretly spied on Trump allies and Republican senators as part of the "Arctic Frost" investigation. It was only after Trump came back to office that the FBI learned Smith had subpoenaed the private phone records of Trump associates like Kash Patel and Susie Wiles, along with Trump-aligned senators including Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, Lindsey Graham, and others.

But Smith isn't the only Trump critic with a glaring double standard. Enter former President Barack Obama, who recently told outgoing CBS late night host Stephen Colbert that Trump's DOJ has been politically weaponized. "The White House shouldn't be able to direct the attorney general to go around prosecuting whoever they tell them to," said Obama. "The attorney general is the people's lawyer, it's not the president's consigliere."

Like Smith, Obama's criticisms ring hollow in light of his own actions. In fact, if Smith was the one who tried to finish off Trump, then Obama was the one who started the effort to destroy Trump nearly a decade earlier. Former Homeland Security spokeswoman Katherine Zacharia told Fox News Obama's comments are especially rich. "When Jack Smith directed the raid on Mar-a-Lago, was (Obama) criticizing Biden? No," she said. "Where was he with (New York Attorney General) Letitia James, who said basically I'm gonna build my career on getting President Trump, and let's be clear--it was President Obama's FBI that spied on Trump's campaign."

"They peddled Russia-gate," Zacharia continues. "Remember (Director of National Intelligence) Tulsi Gabbard saying we have irrefutable proof of treasonous conspiracy to essentially peddle Russia-gate."

"So President Obama, we don't want to hear about it from you...your outrage is misplaced."
