Author: Inherent Leftist Bias "Baked" Into Artificial Intelligence

The rise of artificial intelligence has been rapid and almost uncontrolled, with little regulation stopping a technology that is untested from growing beyond what people ever intended. Nevertheless, people use it every single day for basic tasks or as a way to get work done quicker. Among the most uneducated of society, it is even used for the simplest of questions, like "who is the President?" or, "where do eggs come from?"

But beyond all of the growth problems, there lies another embedded in AI. That is the rise of bias in its responses, specifically left-wing bias. That has been a growing issue for years. Plenty of issues have arisen of people prompting questions about Republicans, then posing the same question for Democrats and getting a wildly different answer. Same applies for religion and race or ethnicity as well.

Why would AI have this kind of bias though? Look no further than its creators, the liberal companies that train them. AI is a reflection of its creator. If they want it to respond with a liberal answer, they will. If they want it to bash Republicans, they have the power to do it.

Colin Madine of Breitbart says the challenge though comes in fighting back against this, and it will take bringing out the big guns.

"If we are going to override the states...the federal government is going to have to get involved, and say if you operate with bias, you will be penalized...we have not seen that happen yet," he says.

Expecting the federal government to actually be able to stop this is laughable, considering a federal judge blocks President Trump if he breathes too loudly.

"Code Red" Author Wynton Hall recently wrote an article on Breitbart saying this inherent bias is baked into AI already. That might actually be the case, as many of the popular ones have already been fully compromised.

But even when you get past the mainstream AI, there is not many places left to turn for true, unbiased AI.

"Even AI systems that say they are a loose neutral still show leftist bias because of the training data that goes in and how they build the system," says Madine.

So, the states cannot stop it, and we personally cannot stop it. We cannot rely on the federal government to make a cheese sandwich in unison, let alone accomplish something like this.

In the end, it will have to come down to not us stopping it but changing its purpose.

"The answer is not to hope and pray to hope and pray we get a good AI...it is to control how we use AI," Madine says. "The best thing we can do though is not trust a single thing that AI says...full stop."
