Construction of the planned White House Ballroom, on the site of the already demolished east wing, has been blocked by a federal judge, who says Trump needs congress to authorize it's construction.
The ballroom is set to be payed for completely through private donations, but Judge Richard Leon, who was appointed by former President George W. Bush, says Trump still can't move forward with it's construction.
President Trump has maintained that he doesn't require any additional authorization in order to make changes to the White House, or the White House grounds. Judge Leon has stayed his order for two weeks, to allow for an appeal.
The National Capital Planning Commission typically oversees planning for federal buildings and land in Washington D.C., and according to even CNN reporting, is expected to approve the plans for the ballroom.
