People in Austin are calling it a mystery, but it's gaining a lot of attention at the South By Southwest festival, just like it is in other cities -- a Jeffrey Epstein "Walk of Shame."
Someone placed decals on a downtown Austin sidewalk, with names inside big colored stars that resemble the "Walk of Fame" dedicated to celebrities on the sidewalks of Hollywood.
The Austin stars were found by patrons of SXSW on Saturday night, the eve of the Academy Awards show to hand out movie Oscars.
But these stars carry the names of dozens of wealthy and famous people who've been linked to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, among them convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein.
Hoodline reports one star featured the name of Elon Musk, but someone had already attempted to peel off the sidewalk sticker, and some bystanders said they think Musk's name was placed there as a joke.
It's not known who put the star stickers on the sidewalk -- or even when -- and there is no known police investigation.
Another version of the Walk of Shame has shown up not far from the White House, according to this MSN video.
The week-long South by Southwest cultural festival wraps up Wednesday.
