All nine defendants in the attack of an ICE Facility in Alvarado, Texas in 2025 have been found guilty on federal charges.
That attack happened at the Prairieland Detention facility about 25 miles south of Fort Worth last July. The group ambushed the center, setting off fireworks at the building, damaged vehicles, and eventually fires shots at two ICE officers. One officer was hit in the neck, who has since recovered.
Eight of the nine, all of whom are Antifa members, were found guilty on Friday of providing material support to terrorists. Another defendant was found guilty of corruptly concealing a document.
The leader of the protest, Benjamin Song, was also found guilty of attempted murder of officers or employees of the United States. Other defendants charged with attempted murder were found not guilty.
“Antifa is a domestic terrorist organization that has been allowed to flourish in Democrat-led cities - not under President Trump,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a press release. “Today’s verdict on terrorism charges will not be the last as the Trump administration systematically dismantles Antifa and finally halts their violence on America’s streets.”
Jurors heard from 45 witnesses in the trial, which lasted about three weeks. The trial started on the wrong foot with a mistral, after one of the defense attorneys wore a t-shirt with an activist cause.
Charges ranged between rioting, providing material support to terrorists, conspiracy to use and carry an explosive, and using and carrying explosives during a riot.
Prosecutors labeled the act as domestic terrorism, saying all convicted were part of Antifa, which has been declared a terrorist organization by President Trump.
