The partial government shutdown continues, as Senate Democrats once again block an effort by the GOP to finally fund the Department of Homeland Security, which includes both TSA, and the Coast Guard.

They're still continuing to demand more restrictions on immigration enforcement, and insist they won't fund all of DHS until they get them. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has remained funded during the 27 day partial shutdown due to provisions in the Big Beautiful Bill.

The shutdown is beginning to raise concerns about America's vulnerability to a potential terror attack, with Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) saying, "... at a time when our homeland is under attack, all warning lights are flashing red, and they want to peel apart, piece by piece, the Department of Homeland Security, the comprehensive department of our government to protect the American people, because they want to stand with illegal immigrant criminals."
