Update 9 pm: Crews Restoring Texas Power After Thunderstorms

Tens of thousands of people are without power in Texas as storms moved through over the past 24 hours, storms that are just now moving southeast down toward Galveston.

As of Saturday night, nearly 8,000 customers had no power in Houston's Harris County and Fort Bend County areas, most of it weather-related.

CenterPoint said it has crews restoring power even though it's still raining in the metropolitan area.

Add to that another two thousand in the dark in Montgomery County, with Entergy Texas saying they're working on it too.

Perhaps worst hit was Williamson County north of Austin, around the Round Rock area, which has about 8,000 also without power.

That area is served by the Pedernales Electric Coop, and it's expected to be restoring power through the night.
