Texas Could Be The Key To Trump's Second Term Agenda

Incumbent Senator John Cornyn, and AG Ken Paxton are set for a May 26th runoff. But in the meantime, there is a battle between two narratives, with the 'establishment' making the claim that it has to be Cornyn, or else.

But not everyone agrees.

"I want Ken Paxton and John Cornyn to beat the holy tar out of each other" said Matt Locke, host and Republican strategist, "I'm a primary guy, and in the primaries is when you pick the people that you want to fight for you. When they're done, we're going to have a great candidate that will stand up to anything the left can throw at us."

That will be the case -if- the runoff happens as scheduled. But there are some calling for Ken Paxton to drop out, because a Cornyn coronation would ensure a Republican victory in November.

"I get sick of the media, the establishment telling you that if John Cornyn isn't the guy, it's over" Locke told KTRH, 'If we can get a better Senator, we should. James Talarico doesn't stand a snow ball's chance of winning."

Either way, a GOP victory could be a big part of preserving President Trump's 2nd term agenda.
