FCC Launches "Pledge America" Campaign As Part Of America 250 Initiative

The year 2026 is bringing all kinds of fun to the United States. It has already brought a record number of gold medals home in the Winter Olympics and also has the FIFA World Cup coming to the country, and in July, America will celebrate its 250th birthday. President Trump kicked off the yearlong celebration in July 2025, a whole year focused on American history and the preservation of freedom.

As part of the America 250 Initiative, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is doing their part to celebrate America. Chairman Brendan Carr has said they have launched a "Pledge America" campaign. Essentially, the idea promoted broadcasters, both television and radio, to promote on-air content that celebrates American history.

The entire thing is voluntary, but it is a unique and interesting way to look back on the last 250 years. Nick Fondacaro of Newsbusters says this is not some bombardment of content, just simple ways to celebrate American history.

"They have library trucks going around the country to teach kids about American history...it is just a nice little thing to boost America," he says.

It does not have to be overboard, boring, or even relatively new. School House Rock is a program we all remember as a kid, and the short cartoons explain American history and process better than any current ay programming.

You would think this is a bipartisan, fun initiative. You would think there would be no problems with America celebrating America. But leave it to legacy media and Democrats to ruin every single fun thing in existence.

They are upset about the idea, saying it is akin to a show of force or symbolizes fascism. Meanwhile, they support countries who actually use their military in shows of force to the public, like North Korea.

"Even things that should be non-partisan get backlash...we saw it last year when the Army turned 250 last year...they were up in arms over the parade, talking about it looking like Nazi Germany," says Fondacaro.

It is just a baffling and almost humorous lack of self-awareness and delusion. Celebrating your own country and heritage is normal and healthy. The idea anyone has a problem with America celebrating America is in a stratosphere of bizarre one cannot begin to fathom.

Again, this is voluntary. Surely, the legacy media and others will not participate. So as to not enrage their radical, anti-American viewer base.

"The left is trying to say this is propaganda...but really this is just celebrating America's birthday," Fondacaro says. "They can do really easy things, like promote local history in their own local markets."

America has had a wild ride the last 250 years. But in present day, it would not be an American celebration or event if the Democrats did not whine about it. So, in theory, it is the most American birthday for which we could ever ask.
