Nancy Guthrie Disappearance-Police are Waiting on Forensic Testing of Glove

Pima County and FBI search teams recovered 16 gloves around the Guthrie home. An FBI spokesperson said that a glove with a DNA profile recovered in the Nancy Guthrie case is different from other gloves that have been found and appears to match the gloves of the subject seen in the surveillance video. Experts have said the gloves that the subject appears to be wearing in the doorbell video outside Nancy Guthrie's home looks like nitrile gloves that are pulled over another pair of gloves.

According to a Fox report, Retired FBI agent, Jason Pack, said the recovery of a glove matching the type that the subject is wearing in surveillance video is a "promising development," but that any veteran knows these leads also "wash out". Pack adding: "even though a glove appears to match, the DNA inside can be degraded by weather, moisture, handling. It can come back to someone who had nothing to do with the crime," He said, if it does, "you're talking about powerful physical evidence placing him at the scene."

Sunday marks the beginning of the 3rd week the search for Nancy Guthrie.

Saturday- Following massive police presence including the Pima County SWAT team the FBI executed a search warrant at a Tucson-area residence approximately 2 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home. At least 3 people were reportedly detained in connection with the operation, but none have been confirmed as suspects in the case.

Local authorities and the FBI detained a man following a traffic stop in a Culver’s restaurant parking lot in Tucson in connection with the warrant served at the nearby home sources reported to Fox. A gray Range Rover was searched and towed from the parking lot.

The FBI released a description of the subject seen wearing a mask and gloves tampering with the doorbell camera in front of Nancy Guthrie’s home in the early morning February 1- when she is believed to have gone missing. The suspect is described as a male between 5’9” – 5’10” with an average build and was seen in the video carrying a 25-Liter, “Ozark Trail Hiker backpack.

The reward has now been increased to $100,000 dollars leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the disappearance of 84-year- old Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for 2 weeks now.

Fox News reports that the suspects that were detained earlier Saturday, could return to police custody for further investigation. Pima County officials are waiting for lab results. It is unclear what investigators gathered for testing. Officials are withholding new details as they arise to secure the integrity of the investigation.
