Southeast Texas is due for some severe weather Saturday afternoon and well into the evening, and now a Tornado Watch is in effect until 9:20 tonight for much of Southeast Texas.
The Watch area consists of Harris County, Montgomery County, Liberty County, Waller County, and Galveston County including High Island to Freeport and 20 nautical miles over the Gulf.
A Tornado Watch means a tornado has not been spotted, but conditions are ripe for the development of a tornado in the Watch area during the next several hours.
There is also a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 6:40 pm Saturday for Harris, Montgomery and Liberty Counties, according to the National Weather Service.
SE Texas weather expectations include winds up to 30 miles per hour and up to three-quarter of an inch of rain, some of it may be part of thunderstorms, which are expected to move through the area until at least 9 pm, according to The Weather Channel.
Overall, the heaviest thunderstorms and rain are expected between 7 pm and 9 pm.
There is also a possibility of tornadoes, which is a good reason to keep your radio on 740 am KTRH or dial it up on the IHeartRadio app on your phone (see below).
