The Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, Abraham George has confirmed to KTRH that he plans to run for re-election.
"I'm excited to run again. I think we have a lot of work to do to make sure that Texas stays red, and people are happy with Republicans" George said.
The vote will take place during the 2026 Republican Party of Texas State Convention here in Houston, from June 11–13, 2026.

AUSTIN, TX Republican Party of Texas Chairman Abraham George today announced his candidacy for re-election, highlighting the historic achievements of Texas Republicans under his leadership.

Chairman George pointed to the exceptional legislative success of the most recent session, where Republicans passed 43 legislative priority bills a testament to the strength and unity of the conservative movement in Texas. Additionally, the Republican Party of Texas expanded their majorities in both the Texas House and Senate, further solidifying the party's dominance in the Lone Star State.
"We're looking forward to officially closing our primaries and working with an even more conservative 90th Legislature to advance the values that make Texas the greatest state in the nation. The future of Texas Republicanism has never been brighter, and I'm honored to continue leading this fight."
