Unless there's a deal, we will have the third partial government shutdown since October later this week.
This time, it's over finding DHS. The first shutdown, which lasted 43 days, was over COVID subsidies that Democrats no longer talk about. The second shutdown, last month, was over DHS funding. The deal made between President Donald Trump and Senate Democrats gave all sides a two week extension. However, talks have gone nowhere. DHS funding runs out Friday, and even Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman says it's his side that's driving this.
By the way, what Democrats aren't telling you is that ICE, thanks to the Big, Beautiful Bill, is funded through 2029.
