Governor Greg Abbott made another campaign stop in Houston, where he hosted a press conference with Texas job creators and union leaders.
"I am supported by unions that are building Texas, and powering my re-election" Abbott said, "Together we will keep Texas the best state in America for doing business."
Abbott thanked all of the job creators, Union leaders, the Teamsters, Plumbers Union, and the Texas Oil and Gas Association. He then opened it up for a Q&A with media, and the majority of questions were on public school kids leaving campus for anti-ICE protests, which is not legal.
"If kids are skipping class and going out and protesting, those schools are not going to be paid for that day for those students who are skipping class" Abbott said, adding, "Protests by leaving a school, is not allowed by law."
After a warning was issued today by the TEA (Texas Education Agency), Abbott says he believes that the schools got the message.
Abbott also reiterated again that 'Sharia law' is completely banned anywhere in the state of Texas.
