As the Democrats preach, they won’t support the government fully open as they reject a bill in support of DHS’ Ice funding, the potential for another shutdown is looking like a reality. American Tax Reforms, Grover Norquist, says the Democrats aren’t focused on what you would think.
“They’re not interested in governing, getting Americans their refund checks, in stopping the fraud in Minnesota. They are interested in winning the Senate and House in November of 2026.” Norquist said.
Right now, he said, it’s about distractions. If the US has another government shutdown, the Federal Reserve Agency Bank out of Atlanta has their monthly reports delayed- which shows the progress of the economy. Norquist says this was successful last October and November, delaying the most up to date reports for Trump to report. The Democrats don’t want to hear about the economy where it has seen growth by 5.4 percent.
“They don’t want to talk about Biden inflation, Obamacare raising the cost of healthcare. They want to talk about anything else. You may say: Why would you want to shut the government down? It causes all sorts of problems. It’s a distraction from the success of the Republican tax cut.” He said.
Norquist says the Democrats don’t have a winning case and they don’t have a Senator or Governor front runner who hasn’t embarrassed them. For now, the American people stay in limbo with the hope that lawmakers will find solutions and not continue the madness. We just experienced the longest government shutdown in history at 43 days. Airline travel backed up, low-income families on SNAP panicking and local food banks challenged with providing for these families, FAA Airline Pilots without pay, Federal Workers without pay too. The constant tug of war- must end. Are the lawmakers making the decision to shut the government down affected? Let’s take a poll.
