Governor Greg Abbott has joined the list of Republicans, who are calling on ICE to change their tactics following the latest deadly shooting in Minnesota.
Abbott said during a radio interview that ICE needs to "recalibrate it's mission. But there are also some Republicans who disagree.
"Abbott's a relatively good governor" said Texas based host & Republican strategist, Matt Locke, "But if we pull back, that's a win. So, if you back down from evil, evil is going to celebrate and do more."
And that includes, not backing down when the Democrats threaten to shut the government down, unless Republicans agree to stop funding for DHS.
"When you get people like Abbott, people like James Comer or Rand Paul who are out there saying we just need to dial this back, that's what the left wants, that's the response and the outcome they're searching for" Locke told KTRH, "And these folks are playing right into their hands."
Plus, proving that this is all just more political theater from the left, the DHS is already funded through 2029.
"You have to dial up the heat, you have to get rid of the disease, and you have to remove the problems" noted Locke, "It really is just Minneapolis."
The government shutdown deadline is set for Friday night at midnight.
