Following the shooting and death of another anti-ICE rioter in Minneapolis on Saturday, encrypted group chats on the platform Signal have been uncovered that left-wing/Antifa activists and rioters have been using to coordinate and organize ICE obstruction in Minneapolis.
The information exposed shows highly detailed planning, with operatives tracking ICE vehicles, running plates of vehicles they deem suspicious to determine if they might be connected to ICE, and rallying protests when detainment operations are underway.
According to Jeff Addicott with the Warrior Defense Project at St. Mary’s University School of Law, this makes it clear that these protests aren’t natural. “This is like a military operation,” he said. “These aren’t protesters. They’ve got communication, coordination, and foot soldiers ready to confront ICE officers and put their hands on them.”
Addicott went on to warn that if these types of activities are allowed to continue in Minneapolis or any other city, things could get a lot worse. “Anarchists are coming in from out of state, and they will go to wherever a crisis is and do what they always do,” he said. “There have to be consequences for this type of behavior.”
He says this could all lead to the invocation of the Insurrection Act if it’s not dealt with. The good news is it appears that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz might be turning over a new leaf, with President Trump suggesting via Truth Social yesterday that he was finally open to cooperating with immigration enforcement efforts.
