NYC’s Communist Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing a major setback in his effort to control housing in America’s largest city. A judge has ruled that owners of rent-controlled apartments can move forward with selling them, despite Mamdani’s bid to block the sales.

This is likely just the beginning of what could become a mass exodus from New York City, which has already been bleeding residents to southern red states.

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) detailed the shifts we’ve already seen on Fox News and said people are leaving because: “One, it’s not a great place to get a job. Two, it’s not a great place to get an education. Number three, it’s not safe. That’s what people care about, so they’re gonna continue to move even faster.”

He added that there are consequences to the impending mass exodus. “They take jobs with them, they take their charitable giving with them,” Scott explained. “So who gets hurt? The people who need jobs, or who maybe need help from a charity.”

According to Senator Scott, while red states are primed to benefit from Mamdani’s administration, the city he leads is doomed to become just the latest example of the many failures of socialism.
