A new research study found that as kids spend more time with AI, it is literally rewiring their brains.
"Children are no longer looking to their mother and father, and instead they turn to these engines and they don't yet have the context to understand that it is a machine, and not a man" said Hannah Bruck, policy director with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, "So, it's changing their brain chemistry, in a sense of how they interact socially."
It affects their social skills, and not in a good way.
"The way that this manifests in the home is, you have AI kind of taking on a role of a 3rd parent" Bruck told KTRH.
And because of that, you don't want to leave your kids alone with AI.
"For parents, they need to know the tools, talk with their children, set boundaries, and make sure that AI doesn't replace their guidance" noted Bruck.
Don't leave your kids alone with AI, and if they do use it, make sure you monitor it.
