Friday is the first day of new flight restrictions put into place by the FAA to deal with government shutdown related staffing issues.

As of 4am, there were more than 800 flight cancellations across the country.

The travel website Flight Aware reported 33 flight cancellations early Friday morning at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. There were 15 cancellations at Hobby Airport.

In Dallas, we have over 50 cancellations at Dallas Fort Worth International, with more than a dozen canceled flights at Love Field.

In Houston, both Bush International and William P. Hobby airports are facing ground delays, which where put into effect at 1:00pm.

The Bush delay is set to continue until 10:00pm, while the delay at Hobby is set to last until midnight.

All four airports are among the 40 locations impacted by the FAA's restrictions. Airports in San Antonio and Austin are not impacted directly. But that doesn't mean travelers in those cities are going to be impacted.
