Despite all of the 'gloom and doom' reported from the mainstream media, there is one positive that has come from the on-going Democrat led Schumer shutdown. It has exposed the biggest lie in education.
"There's a lot of competition for the biggest lie in education, but one of them is that we actually need a Department of Education in Washington" said Sherry Sylvester, distinguished senior fellow with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, "And yet, the schools are still running because the state's run the schools. There's no reason to re-open the Department of Education."
Earlier this year, President Trump issued an executive order calling on the U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education and return authority to the States and local communities.
"The states run the schools, and here in Texas we've taken steps to put parents in the drivers seat in determining where their children go to school, and what kind of curriculum will be taught at the school" Sylvester told KTRH, "If there's a good thing about the shutdown, it's that it's exposed these needless jobs."
Right now, there are multiple bills that have been drawn up that would officially end the Department of Education by the end of next year.
