Senate Democrats have used the filibuster to block another Republican attempt to reopen the government.

This is the 13th time passage of the bill has been blocked, resulting in the shutdown reaching 28 days, nearing the record of 35 days.

This comes as concerns about SNAP and EBT benefits running out of funding at the end of month, and air traffic controllers just missed their first paycheck.

Members of the U.S. Military are also set to miss their first paychecks this Friday.

There are rumors that Republicans are working on a series of piecemeal bills to fund individual portions of the Government, but it's not clear when those might make it to the floor.
