The entire state of Texas is bracing for yet another round of left-wing "No Kings" protests. Tomorrow, every major city in Texas, including Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, will host the rallies.
The first round of protests in June, while generating a number of headlines and some large crowds, was by and large a nothing burger. So will this be any different? Probably not.
Political consultant Luke Macias explained, "I don't know what they've changed strategically, because ultimately, we're not in those meetings, but I don't expect that we're going to see something greater than what we saw the first time."
He did warn, however, that there is a possibility things could escalate, primarily because of how much higher the political temperature has risen since the first No Kings protests. He said, "The temperature is definitely higher, and you could see that spill over into these protests."
Macias also suggested that this could all be an effort to show the American people that they can remain peaceful, because, according to Macias, the recent spate of left-wing violence has reflected poorly on the entire Democratic Party.
He went on to say that regardless of what the left intends to do, he thinks protests across Texas should remain largely peaceful. He said, "We have to give Governor Abbott and the Texas Department of Public Safety some credit. They've ensured a very large police presence at these protests, and I think it has kept the left from becoming violent."
