The peace plan brokered by President Trump between Hamas, Israel, and several other Middle Eastern nations has officially been signed, and the hostages have been returned. So, can the president expect his due credit for what could be the most historic peace deal in recent history?
So far, despite their demands for peace in the Middle East, other than a few online exceptions, the left has not acknowledged Trump’s role in finally achieving that peace. Matt Margolis, a columnist with PJ Media, is calling this out, saying, “They’re either downplaying what’s happening, or they’re saying it’s a good thing, but not crediting Trump. They just can’t seem to let him have this moment.”
He went on to say that not only are they ignoring Trump’s role in the peace deal, but some are even trying to give former President Joe Biden the credit. Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed on X that this is simply a result of Trump adopting and building on a plan that the Biden administration developed.
Margolis called that idea out, saying, “Biden had two years to get this done and failed to achieve a resolution. It was Trump and his approach to diplomacy that got it done in a few months.” He credits Trump’s refusal to accept the status quo, especially when the status quo isn’t working, with this historic deal.
