Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted last month. New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted on Thursday. Former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton may be next.

MSNBC reports that the DOJ is preparing criminal charges against Bolton. Prosecutors in Maryland are considering whether to seek a grand jury indictment or move faster by filing a direct court complaint, possibly next week.

The MSNBC report says that acting U.S. Attorney Kelly Hayes believes there's a strong case that Bolton mishandled classified information found at his Maryland home. FBI agents spent hours searching the property and left with multiple boxes of materials.

Bolton served the first Trump Administration from 2018 to 2019 and has since become one of his fiercest critics.
