The Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom group is just one of 3 Texas organizations pleased to see Secretary Sean Duffy is making public safety a priority.
“We’ve already seen in several examples across the nation, of how dangerous this is to American lives. When you have people that cannot read English trying to navigate our traffic signs and traffic laws, driving these huge trucks and putting lives in danger- something must be done about it.” TURF Founder, Terri Hall said.
Hall says overwhelmingly their polling results showed most Americans don’t approve of illegal migrants that don’t know the English language driving on American roadways.
In addition, she pointed to lawmakers in Congress who are pushing AI driverless trucks she says can easily get hacked unlike identify theft this is a much higher level of danger. “Imagine what the public response would be if there is no driver required inside an AI 18-wheeler truck that can plow into you and your family or your business, your building, your house and be weaponized by a foreign hostile nation.” She explained.
Hall says the public needs to speak up and that there is a real battle in protecting public safety and preventing any terroristic threats. She notes Governor Abbott and Secretary Duffy have taken initial steps and she is seeing other state governors follow suit.
“We have been sounding the alarm for decades. We are pleased to see the Trump administration take action and it’s a step in the right direction.” Hall said.
