According to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, 2 children are dead, and 2 critically hurt following a shooting in Angleton yesterday. A 13-year-old and a 4-year-old were killed in the shooting, and an 8-year-old and a 9-year-old were critically hurt and flown to a hospital.
A woman is now in custody, but her relation to the children is unknown.
In a statement, the Brazoria County Sheriff's posted on Facebook: Earlier today, deputies responded to a tragic incident involving a shooting near Angleton, TX. Preliminary information indicates that two children, ages 13 and 4, were fatally shot, and two others, ages 8 and 9, were transported by Life Flight in critical condition.
Investigators are collecting evidence and working to determine exactly what happened. All individuals believed to be involved have been detained, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
One home has been searched in connection to the shooting, and authorities are expected to give a press conference releasing more information today at 4:00pm
