A New Domestic Terror Law Might Be Needed As Political Violence Rises

Political violence in the United States has spiraled entirely out of control. Not only have there been two (2) separate assassination attempts made on President Trump, we also just had the political assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. All because Kirk had a dissenting viewpoint and wanted to embrace debating those viewpoints.

All of it has been perpetuated by the Left. Call it whatever you want to justify your own evil thoughts, but this level of political violence has been 100 percent instigated by the Left. For years, they have demonized any Republican or non-Democrat by calling them fascist, Nazi, and a whole variety of names. Plenty of them have even encouraged violence, saying we need to 'fight fire with fire.'

All of this has brought us to a critical inflection point in the country. We simply cannot allow people to go around killing others because they disagree with their politics. It just cannot happen. To discourage it, it might be time for stricter laws regarding domestic terrorism.

GOP National Committeewoman Nicolee Ambrose says other statutes, like hate crime laws, have held up on lesser cases. Now, we need to bump up the domestic terror laws to further solidify the U.S. position.

"Then it would be easier to have more durable and lasting prosecutions and convictions for those who incite political violence," she says.

Most Democrats will argue that Republicans are just as guilty of political violence because of the January 6th, 2021, Capitol riots. But that did not result remotely close to any true critical violence. It did result in one death among the rogue actors who went into the building. But that was not some demonstration meant to kill anyone or even call for the killing of anyone. There was no intent for anything beyond a peaceful protest.

All the recent instances of political violence have been clearly targeted and meant to result in death. This is where it becomes domestic terror. The intent.

To make matters worse, there are Democrats who support this political violence. At least 40 percent in recent Quinnipiac poll said violence is sometimes justified. Think about that. Over 40 percent of a political party believes that killing someone with a dissenting view is acceptable.

This could all be quelled, at least in theory, by Democrats. All the leadership has to do is come out and condemn the political violence. Yet even amid all the action, they refuse to do so. Their continued defiance of basic human norms is why we need new domestic terror laws now.

"Kamala Harris just a few nights ago went to the Congressional Black Caucus to accept an award and said we have to 'fight fire with fire,' after two assassination attempts on President Trump and the assassination of Charlie Kirk," says Ambrose.

They have doubled down in the three weeks since Kirk's assassination, still calling Trump a dictator and a 'threat to democracy.' All of it to drive a narrative they have been shown does not work.

If Democrats had any decency, they would stand up and try to reel in the issue. Instead, they keep doing the same things and living the definition of insanity.

"It is incumbent upon Democrat leadership to reject political violence...this is a Leftist problem, it is up to Leftist leaders to solve this, and be partners in supporting the First Amendment," Ambrose says.

Under the aggressiveness of the Trump Administration, a new domestic terror law is definitely a possibility. Due to the lack of Democrat competence or action, it might be time to enact one.
