Two people were killed and multiple others injured in a shooting at a casino in Eagle Pass just after midnight Sunday.
The Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino is on the Texas/Mexico border, about 150 miles southwest of San Antonio. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, another en route to the hospital. At least three to four more victims were airlifted in critical condition to San Antonio hospitals after being struck by gunfire.
The suspect, who fled the scene in a black Nissan truck, was later taken into custody in Wilson County with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety. He has been identified as Keryan Jones.
We also know about one of the victims.
Eagle Pass Mayor Aaron Valdez released a statement Sunday, identifying one of the victims as Marcus “Mark” Antley, a retired U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent.
"With profound sorrow, I join our community in mourning the tragic loss of Marcus ‘Mark’ Antley, a beloved community member and retired U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent, who was among the victims killed in the horrific shooting at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino,” Valdez said. “Mr. Antley dedicated much of his life to public service and law enforcement. He will be remembered not only for his career but also for his generosity, leadership, and the lasting friendships he built throughout Eagle Pass and the region. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of many."
