Employees and Employers Concerned About Jobs Slowdown

The job market appears to be slowing down after several months of what one analyst calls a kind of frozen feeling.

The number of jobs available has dwindled and many workers are feeling the pinch of inflation, while employers are also worried about inflation that's persisted since the Biden years -- down but not out -- and now concerns about tariffs.

Sarah Foster, analyst at Bankrate, says she sees the job market as somewhat frozen for months, and now appears to be stagnating a little.

"It's actually a job market on the brink of maybe a slowdown, and that's why you're seeing officials at the Federal Reserve cut interest rates, you know they're changing their focus now from being more worried about the labor market."

"But we still see through survey data that the past couple of months that inflation is still top of mind for many Americans."
