A New Call To Defend Religious Liberty

The left's callous reaction to the tragic murder of Charlie Kirk has served as a great reminder of the importance of religious liberty in the U.S. It's something that Lt. Governor Dan Patrick wrote an op-ed about for Fox News. Political commentator Matt Locke, agrees.

"It's been misconstrued over the years to be that religion shouldn't be anywhere near government" Locke said, "But no, it's government shouldn't be anywhere near the religion." That's what the founders made pretty clear.

And that means -no- religious persecution from the government, like last week's bombshell report from the DOJ, that found that the Biden-Harris administration had used the full weight of the federal government to target people of faith.

"They shouldn't be anywhere telling you how to worship, or your religion" Locke told KTRH, "And it's nice to see leaders stand up and say let's clarify this, and let's just make it so it's not something that people can politically attack."

Lt. Gov. Patrick is leading President Trump's Religious Liberty Commission, charged to prevent further attacks from the left in the future.

"Religion is counterintuitive to the Democrat position, and the liberal position in this country because if you have a God that you pray to, you're not praying to government" noted Locke, "They've tried to make government God."

Thanks to the awakening and revival in this country, that was stopped last November.

The next Religious Liberty Commission is set for September 29th.
