With 'school choice' on the way here in Texas, there's a great story about a woman in Arlington who quit her job as a CPA, to open up and start what is called a 'smart school'.
"I think it's going to be a great option, and I think we're going to see a whole lot more popping up" said Jean Burk, education expert and founder of College Prep Genius, "It's just such a better way to educate because it's individualized with smaller classes."
Braveheart Christian Academy is the school that was opened by Chrystal Bernard. It now has 27 students, and will be eligible for the Texas ESA's.
"And I think one of the parts of the people that are starting up pod schools or micro schools, is that they want to foster that love for learning" Burk said, "Once the ESA's come out, families can get up to $10,000, and they can take their money where they want. It's definitely going to be a huge impact on Texas students."
The Education Savings Accounts in Texas will be available beginning next year.
