While grieving continues across the world for Turning Point USA founder and political activist Charlie Kirk, some have already begun to wonder what kind of effect his murder will have on politics here in the United States.
The truth is, the biggest shift might not come from Kirk's murder, but from the left's public reaction to it. Political consultant Luke Macias explained, "The celebration of the death on that side has probably caused more of a turning point than the act itself."
He went on to say that the assassination of Charlie Kirk could lead to a massive revival on the political right, led by a recognition of Kirk's faith-centered legacy. He said, "It would not only entail a spiritual revival, but that also would then bear itself out into aggressive policy advocacy in the public square."
This would be a strong reflection of Kirk's life and message. He was known for closely linking his politics and his faith. Kirk was also known for pointing out the fact that young people were increasingly returning to church.
Macias also pointed out the emphasis Kirk put on faith, saying, "Charlie Kirk, before he was a political commentator, was someone who boldly proclaimed the name of Jesus. To the right and to the left. And there are those on the right and the left who need to hear that."
