While much of America and conservatives around the world have gathered together to mourn the loss of conservative icon Charlie Kirk, the response from many on the left to Kirk's assassination has drawn major pushback.

Many on the left have gone as far as to express outright joy online at Kirk's passing, while some members of the mainstream media, like the New York Times, took the time to blast his stance on COVID during his obituary.

The New York Times obituary for Kirk read in part:

"He was so vocal in his willingness to spread unsupported claims and outright lies — he said that the drug hydroxychloroquine was '100 percent effective' in treating the virus, which it is not — that Twitter temporarily barred him in early March 2020. But that move only added to his notoriety and seemed to support his claim that he was being muzzled by a liberal elite."

Political strategist and writer Nick Lindquist called out the NYT for this, saying, "Unfortunately, I've been jaded since forever on the New York Times, and it doesn't surprise me. It's sad. It's disgusting, actually."

Lindquist then called out the anti-conservative rhetoric that the left has pushed for years, which many believe led to Kirk's assassination, saying, "They're saying 'These people are Nazis.' How can these people not see it? They are the ones who helped inflame these radicals."

He also called out the left for their victim-blaming, pointing out how ridiculous it is to blame Charlie Kirk's message for his assassination.
