With president Trump continuing to fight to keep the long overdue tariffs in place, China is working equally as hard to try and topple the U.S. dollar.
"Xi Jinping has made no bones about the fact that he wants to displace the United States as the preeminent country in the world, and he also wants to displace our economy" said Fox News columnist, Liz Peek.
China wants to take down the U.S. dollar, and promote the renminbi as the world's reserve currency.
"So, why would China do this? They really want to undermine the value of the dollar because they think that's a very helpful path towards undermining the United States" Peek told KTRH.
The big question now is, what can President Trump do to stop it?
"The best remedy for a weaker dollar is to get our fiscal house in order" noted Peek, "Trump is doing that, and now people are horrified that the tariffs might be declared illegal."
The bottom line is, we need to make the U.S. dollar great again. The good news is, China is not close to replacing the U.S. dollar. They have their own economic issues.
