Just a few short months after their first go-around, leftists across the country are preparing for a second round of national "No Kings" protests. This second round of protests is set to take place next month, on Saturday, October 18th.
The question is, what exactly are they hoping to achieve with these protests? Trenten Rippey with Young Americans for Liberty thinks it's a money grab. He said, "I think it's just for a headline to get donors out and just to be disruptive. That's what the left loves to do. They don't have a grasp on the real tactics."
Rippey went on to point out that the first No Kings rallies weren't really all that successful, drawing just a small fraction of Kamala Harris voters nationally. He said, "They made the headlines for a little bit, but it really wasn't anything to write home about. Nothing happened, and everyone who was employed went about their day."
He thinks that this is all just a symptom of the fact that the left is running out of steam, largely due to the fact that the only thing the left has to campaign on is their opposition to Trump. According to him, "Even when you do have people who are frustrated with the GOP establishment types, these guys don't step up to the plate, and they don't provide that alternative solution."
