After yet another violent weekend, President Donald Trump had a message for the crime ridden city of Chicago.
"We're going in," Trump said. "This isn't a political thing. I have an obligation. When 20 people are killed over the last two and a half weeks and 75 are shot .. we're going in."
This follows a weekend that saw eight people murdered in Chicago. More than 50 people were wounded. There were also more than 30 shooting incidents.
Trump has already cleaned up crime in DC, and has put other Democrat led cities on notice, including Chicago and Baltimore.
"I have an obligation to protect this country," Trump said.
Following the announcement, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker claimed that Texas National Guardsmen would be part of the operation in Chicago.
”We have reason to believe that the Trump Administration has already begun staging the Texas National Guard for deployment in Illinois,” Pritzker stated.
