It's been a years long effort, but Texas is closer to keeping men out of women's private spaces.

The Texas House passed the Women's Privacy Act 86 to 43, meaning that a battle that has gone on since 2017 years in Austin is just a step away from officially ending.

The state Senate now has to approve changes made by the House before it gets to Governor Greg Abbott's Desk.

In a statement, Mary Elizabeth Castle of Texas Values said, "Today Texas made a historic move in making sure that no woman or little girl has to look over her shoulder with fear when she is in the locker room, restroom, or shower because a man has been allowed to wrongfully enter that space. I thank Governor Abbott and other state leaders for being strong in passing the Texas Women’s Privacy Act before the calendar year is over. Our Texas legislature has made the message loud and clear: You don’t mess with Texas women and their dignity”.

Texas first tried to pass what critics have called the 'Bathroom Bill' in 2017. Governor Abbott reacted on X, which you can see below.
