The downfall of the Democrat party has been well documented in recent weeks, as they keep doubling down on ideologies that already lost them the 2024 election. It now might even end up costing them in midterms. That is a special level of incompetence, because the minority party in Washington typically gains in midterms. The party has no fresh face, no voice, and now faces internal conflict and fundraising struggles.
Many lifelong Democrats have been flipping parties in recent years and there are many donors who have started drawing back money. Mostly because they disagree with the progressive platform, as the party becomes a shell of its former self. The most recent filings show the Democrat National Committee NC ended July with about $14 million in the bank, the lowest cash on hand for them in five years. Compare that to the Republican National Committee's $84 million in the bank.
None of it is a surprise though to anyone who has been paying attention. Republican strategist Jeanette Hoffman says this is a trend that has been going since the pandemic.
"2.2 million voters have left the Democrat party since 2020...and Republicans gained 2.4 million voters...so this has been an ongoing trend for a few years now," she says.
The party claims it is a variety of things. They complain that Kamala Harris lost the election because she is black, and America is racist. They claim the GOP suppresses votes, they claim the country is not woke enough, they claim everything is President Trump's fault. They blame every single thing besides themselves.
It really boils down simply to the party having lost its touch with reality and the voter. They care only about power, money, and whatever causes can serve themselves.
"They have really lost their way on basic issues like the economy and public safety...the Democrat party needs to actually look at voters, and talk to them, to see what they care about...if they really want to turn this ship around, and win election again," says Hoffman.
Their messaging and violent rhetoric was directly correlated to the Democrats embarrassing defeat in November. People clearly have had enough with the same 'woe is me, its everyone else's fault' attitude from the party. People do not want transgender men in women's sports, they do not want DEI pushed on their kids in schools, and they do not want the progressive ideology as a whole.
Nevertheless, they continue pushing this same narrative, the same song and dance. It will continue costing them. Worse yet, they have no real direction or idea of where to go from here.
"They party needs to decide where it wants to go, and who their leader will be...no one really knows," Hoffman says. "So, they are pretty tortured right now as to which direction they are going to go."
It is just another day of the Democrat disarray. It is likely to continue until the party either changes their ways or learns a lesson. Neither of which will happen before pig's fly.
