Texas Governor Greg Abbott has officially expanded the agenda for the second special session of the 89th Texas Legislature.
This follows the passage of two of the biggest legislative priorities for the GOP: flood relief and redistricting.
According to a press release from the Governor's Office, the following items are now included on the agenda:
- Legislation to prohibit same-day voter registration in Texas
- Legislation authorizing contracts with sheriffs and constables for the provision of law enforcement services and legislation relating to the appropriation or transfer of funds to or from a law enforcement agency
We are still awaiting significant action on a number of other top GOP priorities included on the agenda, namely major property tax reforms and relief.
