Texas Congressman Chip Roy Announces Run for Attorney General

House Hearing Examines Judicial Overreach And Constitutional Limits On Federal Courts

It was one of the worst kept secrets in state politics, but now it's no longer secret.

On Thursday, Texas Congressman Chip Roy made it official. He is running for state Attorney General.

In a statement, Roy said, "My experience watching Texans unite in response to the Hill Country floods made it clear that I want to come home. I want to take my experience in Congress, as a federal prosecutor, and as First Assistant Attorney General to fight Texas for Texas.

Roy joins a Republican field that includes Houston State Senator Joan Huffman and Galveston State Senator Mayes Middleton
